INSTANT JALEBI RECIPE
Here's a new quick Indian dessert recipe for Jalebi:
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup gram flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup ghee or oil
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- Chopped pistachios or almonds for garnish
- Rabri or syrup for serving (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, gram flour, baking soda, and salt.
2. Add ghee or oil and mix until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
3. Gradually add lukewarm water and knead the dough for 5-7 minutes.
4. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
6. Using a piping bag or a plastic bag with a corner cut off, pipe the dough into spiral shapes.
7. Fry the jalebis until golden brown, then remove and soak in rabri or syrup for at least 30 minutes.
8. Serve warm or chilled, garnished with chopped nuts.
Homemade Rabri Recipe (optional)
- 1 liter full-fat milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
Combine milk, sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron threads in a saucepan. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the milk thickens and reduces to a creamy consistency. Let cool.
